The charter authorization process is a crucial responsibility of county school boards. The staff of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, in conjunction with the Fresno County Board of Education, instituted a model that provides structure, coaching, and accountability to charters identified as Low Performing by the State of California. This session will describe the process created by the FCSS staff and tell how the identified charter realized improvement. The session will be presented by an accountability liaison, a leadership coach, the director of the identified charter, and the county board member responsible for charter schools.
